IBA Lab is actively collecting and seeking material relating to housing research and design from the twentieth century onwards. Both digital and material, the repository will represent historical and contemporary practices which tell the story of Melbourne’s housing while informing the shape of things to come. The repository will provide support for future research but importantly it will be a resource for design practice as well as policy makers in responding to the growth of the city and the suburbs. IBA Melbourne will publish from the repository and develop exhibitions, papers and books related to its ongoing collections.
